Rats are able to breed throughout the
year and a pair can, given ideal
conditions, produce around 700 offspring
in their life time.
|
|

|
|
|
|
Rats can cause immense damage to food
stuffs and buildings, through their
gnawing, feeding and contamination. Rats
can gnaw though, electric cable insulation
causing numerous fires, plastic pipes
causing leaks in central heating systems
and water supplies.
|
|
The rat thrives wherever food is grown
or stored. Their sense of smell and
hearing is very sharp, but they have poor
eyesight. They are omnivorous, feeding on
whatever food is available, but preferring
food rich in starch or protein.

A rat builds a rather bulky nest of any available
material and the litter can be as large as fifteen.
They can have up to five litters per year. Control
of the rat is necessary, especially as they can
transmit a number of potentially fatal diseases
(e.g. Salmonella and Leptospirosis). Up to 50% of
rats in some populations may carry Leptospira,
which is excreted in their urine.
Eight Treatments/Inspections per annum to control
rodents.
Reporting manual maintained on-site including site
map of bait stations.
Internal Bait Stations - all our bait stations are
tamper-proof.
Locking Tamper-proof bait stations.

Mice can live and thrive under a
variety of conditions in and around homes
and farms. House mice consume food meant
for humans or pets.

|
|
They contaminate food-preparation
surfaces with their faeces, which can
contain the bacterium that causes food
poisoning (salmonellosis). Their constant
gnawing causes damage to structures and
property.
Mice make their nests from shredding
paper or other fibrous material and are
often found in sheltered areas.
Droppings, fresh gnawing and tracks
indicate areas where mice are active. Mice
have a characteristic musky odour that
identifies their presence. Mice can be
seen during daylight and at night their
presence can be identified by their
'scurrying' or 'gnawing' sounds.

|
Mice have an amazing sense of taste,
hearing, smell and touch. They are
excellent climbers and can run up any
rough vertical surface. They will run
horizontally along wire cables or ropes
and can jump up 13 inches from the floor
onto a flat surface.

|

|

|
|
They can slip through incredibly small
gaps, sometimes as small as .25 of an
inch.
A female mouse can have up to 10
litters a years with up to six mice in
each litter.
